Each Wednesday NICS students will explore performing arts through acting, singing and dancing. Visual and performing arts reinforce literacy, speaking and listening. They provide natural opportunities for students to communicate, collaborate, create and critically think.

All students in grades 1-12 are welcome! An Actors Book, which includes scripts, projects, and games, a t-shirt, and 1 ticket to CYT North Idaho’s production of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Kroc Center, will be provided to your student. Teacher:

Tyler McCabe

Tyler McCabe is a proud CYT North Idaho alumni and is so excited to switch over to the teaching side of things! He joined the program in 2014, and has since been involved in 24 shows with this branch. In his time as a student, Tyler gained experience as a cast member, crew member, and stage manager. He was the HYPE Secretary/Treasurer for 4 years, and worked as a camp and class TA for 5 years. During his senior year he was also given the opportunity to teach CYT @ School for North Idaho Christian School, where he had an absolute blast. Tyler has also performed in various shows at Aspire Community Theatre, Lake City Playhouse, Spokane Civic Theatre, Liberty Lake Community Theatre, and Spokane Valley Summer Theatre. Tyler has an Associates of Arts from North Idaho College, and will start earning his BFA in Acting for Theatre in the fall at Utah Valley University. Tyler thanks CYT and theatre for bringing so much joy and light into his life, and he is excited and grateful to share these gifts with the next generation. The theatre should be a safe space for students to learn and grow, and Tyler is excited to teach at an organization that upholds those values so well!
